WATCH: Hilarious interviews from Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Nick Kyrgios
Do you feel like this week is dragging, and are looking forward to the weekend? Then we can help you get through the slow days. Check out these funny interview moments of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Nick Kyrgios, and co.
Tennis players love to entertain the crowd by showing off their skills, but sometimes they can bring their fans some joy with hilarious moments.
Kyrgios often finds himself on the funny side of things, even if he does not always try to do so. His bluntness will surely make you smile when you hear him talk about something like waking up early.
“Yeah. It was always going to be a tough match. Especially playing at 10am, it’s never easy. I just wanna thank the crowd who came out early. It wasn’t easy for me to wake up, so I can only imagine what it was like for you guys,” said Kyrgios.
The Australian has been relatively open about his antics both on and off the court, and the star has shown his appreciation over the years for his fans and tournament officials.
“You guys are amazing; it was honestly a week to remember. I made a little list, hold on I gotta like remember some people to thank- gimme a sec. Can’t forget. Okay, first of all, the tournament director, Kayleigh. That was the first one, Happy Birthday,” said the appreciative Kyrgios.
Federer played 1,526 matches over his career and won 1,251 of those, so he has often found himself at the end of the microphone. There is only so much Federer can say after playing so many matches and being interviewed so many times.
“You’d lost your last four matches against him and of course that epic, heart breaking final at Wimbledon. So, what did you do differently today?” asked the interviewer, hoping for a juicy answer. To which he Mighty Federer answered “I dunno, I won the match point I guess!”
Nadal has played professional tennis since 2001 and has been exciting to watch since his arrival. He continuously appeared in the Top 10 of the ATP rankings from April 2005 to March 2023. In that time, he has given the fans some incredible moments on the court and some hilarious ones off the court.
“I’m not sure if you’re aware of this, but you actually are the first player to ever be World No.1 in three different decades,” said the interviewer, to which Nadal responded by saying, “The only thing that means is that I am very old!”
