VIDEO: Roger Federer gets best of Daniil Medvedev in sumptuous serve/volley rally

They say serve/volley is becoming a dying art in tennis, but Roger Federer has shown he’s still very much able to dominate from the net.
Indeed, despite baseline power being more important than ever in the sport, it is still a thing of beauty when a player constructs a point, glides in towards the net, and bosses the court from close quarters.
It’s taken Federer a little time to adjust to the demands of indoor tennis at his hometown tournament in Basel this week, but he looked in great form against Daniil Medvedev, with this delicious point certainly part of his his competition highlight reel.
“I’m very happy. I think it was my best performance this week,” Federer said.
“I’m starting to really get to understand the conditions and it was consistent, my most consistent match by far.
“The results show it as well, so I’m very happy.”
