WATCH: Reilly Opelka explains why ‘exciting’ Nick Kyrgios misses out on servebot first-team squad

Reilly Opelka shares a light-hearted moment

He is known for his strong serve, but Nick Kyrgios is unfortunately “too exciting” to make the servebot first-team squad, according to Reilly Opelka.

Servebots are players with huge serves and they win the majority of points off their booming serves.

Opelka named the servebot dream team and included himself, his fellow American John Isner, Croatian Ivo Karlovic, Canadian Milos Raonic, and Kevin Anderson from South Africa in the first team.

Kyrgios certainly possess the serve, but the key component that he misses, according to Opelka, is he is not miserable to watch.

“Isner and I were joking around about what is the definition of a servebot is,” the American said.

“We were joking, is Kyrgios first-team all-bot? He holds serve a lot, the stats kind of point towards him holding a lot and [he] is considered a potential first-team all-bot.

“Right now it is Isner first team, I’m first team, Karlovic is first team, Raonic and I think Kevin Anderson.

“Kyrgios makes a case for it, but we came to the conclusion that servebots have to be a little miserable to watch. He’s too exciting, too fun to watch so he doesn’t fall into the first-team servebot category.”
