The US Open is just around the corner and the major clothing brands are starting to unveil their new fashion ranges for the final Grand Slam of the year.

Tennis clothing brands change their looks around the four major championships each year, as the global media exposure gives them the best chance to promote their clothing.

Carlos Alcaraz has developed a huge following around the world after his sparkling 12 months of winning form and all eyes will be on his new look in New York.

The Spanish world No 1 is the defending champion at the US Open and he will be wearing Nike’s fresh turquoise range.

Alcaraz may also be hoping his sportswear backers will be producing a new bucket hat for him to wear around New York.

The 20-year-old was seen sporting his bucket hat at every press conference at Wimbledon and he might fancy the turquoise version for the US Open.

A shirt that would have been worn by former US Open champion Rafael Nadal has also been revealed by Nike, but the 22-time Grand Slam-winning legend will miss the last major of the year due to injury.

ASICS-sponsored players will also be modeling the turquoise look in New York, with Alex de Minaur among those set to wear a multi-coloured clothing collection that is completed by some eye-catching shoes.

Italian star Matteo Berrettini is another player who attracts the spotlight in the men’s game, and his new Hugo Boss range has also been revealed ahead of his return to the US Open.

The 2021 Wimbledon runner-up will be wearing a striking black and gold shirt, which will stand out if he is playing in a night match on Arthur Ashe Stadium court.

Berrettini is the only player wearing Boss clothing in tennis and he admits he like the exclusivity he has with the elite brand.

“It is pretty cool. A big brand that has come into tennis like this and being the only one wearing them makes me feel good,” said Berrettini.

“I got into this brand and this deal because my performance results were good. I know when you get a little bit better, you have to handle this stuff.

“It is part of my job, part of what I do, but they make it really easy, how well they are taking care of me. It is just really one of the best deals I have ever had.”

This year’s US Open will also mark a landmark anniversary for one of the tournament’s longest-standing partners, with a Wilson ball set to be used for a 45th successive year.
