Defending champ Bianca Andreescu leads US Open field featuring Serena Williams, Simona Halep

Thirteen Grand Slam winners, including defending US Open champion Bianca Andreescu, 23-time major winner Serena Williams and current Wimbledon winner Simona Halep are on the entry list for the 2020 US Open.
There were initial concerns that the field would lack quality as several players indicated that they were unwilling to travel to the United States during the coronavirus pandemic.
And those fears were heightened when world No 1 Ashleigh Barty confirmed that she won’t play at Flushing Meadows this year.
