Gallery: US Open semi-final glory for Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka
We take you through women’s semi-final day at the US Open, featuring Serena Williams against Anastasija Sevastova, and Madison Keys versus Naomi Osaka.
The 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams arrives on Arthur Ashe court for the first semi-final.
Anastasija Sevastova broke in the opening game of the match as she had the early upper hand.
Serena in full flow, tutu and all.
Serena, though, sailed past the Latvian and into her ninth US Open final.
The 6-2, 6-0 score was pretty lopsided in the American’s favour.
Madison Keys makes her appearance for the second semi-final against Naomi Osaka.
Osaka fought off a couple of break points early in the match.
But once she found her rhythm she was pretty difficult to stop.
It was a tough day at the office for American Keys.
That winning feeling for Osaka as she reaches her maiden Grand Slam final with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over last year’s finalist.
