Shelby Rogers ready for ‘fearless’ Emma Raducanu, but says it is ‘cool’ to see next gen coming through

She needs “to do a little bit of scouting” ahead of their clash, but Shelby Rogers is confident she will be ready for an “inspired” Emma Raducanu when they meet in the fourth round at the US Open.
The 18-year-old Raducanu has followed up her fairytale run to the last 16 at Wimbledon with another dream run at Flushing Meadows.
Emma Raducanu’s US Open odds slashed as she is now fourth favourite following latest incredible win
The teenager’s 6-0, 6-1 demolition of world No 41 Sara Sorribes Tormo in the third round has made many people sit up and take note with many predicting big things for the British youngster.
Rogers, who produced one of the shocks of the tournament when she stunned world No 1 Ashleigh Barty in three sets in the third round, is looking forward to the challenge.
“I’m going to have to do a little bit of scouting I think. But she’s fearless. She is playing very well and she’s inspired. It’s going to be a battle. I am ready for it,” the American said.
“It’s really cool to see the younger generation coming up in this tournament, getting some big wins. It’s really impressive. I’m going to have to bring my best tennis again in a different way I think, though. Every match. That’s the cool thing about tennis, you have to adjust every single time and make a new strategy.”
