The 7 youngest men in Wimbledon draw: Joao Fonseca, Jakub Mensik, Alex Michelsen make the list
Four teenagers will line up in the first round at Wimbledon in 2025 with rising Brazilian sensation Joao Fonseca the youngest player in the main draw while Jakub Mensik is the highest-ranked of the young stars.
Mensik can also be considered a veteran among the youngsters as he will make his sixth appearance in a Grand Slam main draw when he features at Wimbledon.

7. Ethan Quinn- 21 years and three months
American Quinn made his Grand Slam debut as a teenager at the 2023 US Open and he won his first major match at this year’s French Open when he overcame 16th Grigor Dimitrov in the first round before losing in the third round.
The 21-year-old started the French Open at No 106, but broke into the top 100 after the tournament and has since peaked at No 89.
Quinn will make his Wimbledon debut and he will take on fellow youngster Henry Searle at the All England Club.
6. Alex Michelsen – 20 years and 10 months
Michelsen turned pro in 2023 and he made his ATP debut in June and a couple of months later he reached his maiden final as he fellow American John Isner in the semi-final to set up a clash against Adrian Manarrino, but he lost in straight sets.
He jumped from No 190 in the rankings to No 150 on the back of that result and not long after he made his Grand Slam debut at the 2023 US Open, winning his opener before going down in the second round.
Michelsen reached two more finals in 2024, but lost on both occasions.
After finishing last year at No 41, the American started 2025 by upsetting 11th seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the first round of the Australian Open. He went on to produce his best Grand Slam result as he reached the fourth round.
Michelsen will make his second appearance at Wimbledon, but will hope to claim his first win when he faces Miomir Kecmanovic.
5. Nishesh Basavareddy – 20 years and one month
American Basavareddy only turned professional in December 2024 and his ATP Tour debut came in 2025 at the Brisbane International and not long after that event he won his maiden top-level match as he reached the semi-final of the ASB Classic in Auckland, jumping into the top 100 of the rankings.
He was handed a big match on his Grand Slam debut as he faced the legendary Novak Djokovic first up and he managed to win a set before going down in four sets.
Basavareddy made his top 100 debut in May 2025 and will make his first appearance at Wimbledon, facing compatriot Learner Tien.
4. Jakub Mensik – 19 years and nine months
Czech star Mensik’s first taste of Grand Slam action came at the 2023 US Open when he reached the third round after coming through qualifying. Having started the year at No 408 in the rankings, he finished that season at No 167 and it was no surprise when he cracked the top 50 in 2024.
Mensik reached his maiden ATP final at the 2024 Qatar Open, but lost against Karen Khachanov in straight sets.

Just over 12 months later he reached his second final, this time at the ATP Masters 1000 Miami Open, and he ended up being the last man standing after beating all-time great Novak Djokovic.
Mensik has broken into the top 20 of the rankings and he will make his second Wimbledon main draw appearance in 2025, facing Hugo Gaston.
3. Learner Tien – 19 years and six months
The American made his Grand Slam debut as a 16-year-old at the 2022 US Open and the following year he finished runner-up in the boys’ singles competitions at the Australian Open and US Open.
His maiden win at the majors came in the first round of the 2025 Australian Open and he followed it up with a big scalp as he stunned fifth seed Daniil Medvedev in the second round before eventually losing in the fourth round.
Tien’s run at Melbourne Park helped him to make his top 100 debut and he has since risen to No 62.
The teenager takes on fellow American Nishesh Basavareddy first up at Wimbledon 2025.
2. Henry Searle – 19 years and three months
British youngster Searle won the 2023 Wimbledon boys’ singles title, beating Joao Fonseca en route to the trophy.
The following year he made his ATP Tour debut at the Eastbourne International as a lucky loser and not long after he was handed a Wimbledon wildcard.
The teenager, who currently sits at No 421 in the rankings, will get his second taste of Grand Slam tennis when he takes on Ethan Quinn in his 2025 Wimbledon opener.
1. Joao Fonseca – 18 years and 10 months
The rise has been rapid for Fonseca as he only turned professional in 2024 and at that point had already made his ATP Tour debut as he played at the Rio Open in February 2023 at the age of 16 and later in the year he won the US Open boys’ singles title.
No surprise that his maiden win also came at his home event as he defeated Arthur Fils in the first round in 2024. Having started the year at No 730 in the ATP Rankings, he finished the campaign at 145.
Next was his first appearance at a Grand Slam and that came at the 2025 Australian Open and he announced himself on the big stage by defeating ninth seed Andrey Rublev in the first round, while his first title came at the 2025 Argentina Open.
The teenager finds himself at No 54 in the ATP Rankings and will face Jacob Fearnley on his Wimbledon debut.
