The Eastbourne Open is the final WTA Tour warm-up event on British soil before Wimbledon and four Grand Slam winners will be in the main draw of the WTA 250 tournament.

This year will mark the 50th edition of the women’s event and Devonshire Park will once again host some of the biggest names in tennis from June 23-28.

Daria Kasatkina won the tournament 12 months ago when she beat Emma Raducanu in the quarter-final, Jasmine Paolini in the semi-final and Leylah Fernandez in the final.

And the Russian-turned-Australian will return to defend her title, but she is not the only high-profile player in the line-up.

How many players will be in the main draw of the Eastbourne Open?

The WTA 250 event is a 32-player singles draw tournament and three players will gain entry thanks to a wildcard while six spots are reserved for those playing in the qualifying event.

That means 23 players will gain entry thanks to their WTA Ranking on June 16.

Who are the seeded players in the draw?

Defending champion Kasatkina is the highest-ranked player as she is currently No 16 so will be the top seed.

The rest of the seeds are Barbora Krejcikova (17), Jelena Ostapenko (19), Sofia Kenin (29), Magda Linette (31), Peyton Stearns (34), Raducanu (36) and Rebecca Sramkova (38).

This is the first tournament in a couple of years where Raducanu is seeded as she spent a lot of time outside the top 100 of the rankings the past two years.

But it remains to be seen if Raducanu – who replaced Katie Boulter as British No 1 in the rankings on Monday – will be fit to play as she was forced to withdraw from this week’s Berlin Tennis Open as she is struggling with a back injury.
