Elina Svitolina drops only one game to reach Monterrey final while Marie Bouzkova upsets Johanna Konta
Elina Svitolina and Marie Bouzkova will contest the 2020 Monterrey Open final after the former made light work of Arantxa Rus while Bouzkova held off Johanna Konta.
Top seed Svitolina didn’t have to get out of first gear as she required only 51 minutes to brush aside the Dutchwoman 6-0, 6-1.

After being bagelled in the first set, Rus finally managed to get on the scoreboard in game two of the second set, but it was once again all Svitolina after that.
“It was an amazing match from me,” the Ukrainian said. “I was very solid from the baseline and I was serving well, so hopefully I can keep it up for the final as well.”
She will play ninth seed Bouzkova for the title after the Czech secured a 6-3, 6-4 victory over second seed Konta.

Bouzkova, who reached the semi-final at Roland Garros last year, broke once in each set to secure her maiden WTA Tour final.
“I love to play in Mexico. I always get so much love here,” she said. “It’s an amazing feeling and I feel like I’m playing at home. I’m really excited to be in the final tomorrow.”
