Emma Raducanu reveals why she has a passion for a particular Premier League club

Emma Raducanu has made no secret of her love of all things Formula 1, but she has now revealed her passion for a certain London football team as well.
The US Open champion is in Stuttgart for her latest WTA Tour event, as she takes her place in a high quality field for the Porsche Grand Prix and she practiced at the venue on Monday wearing a Tottenham shirt.
The official Twitter account of the north London club were quick to retweet the image of Raducanu in a Spurs jersey and the teenager went on to explain why she is a fan of the club.
“I loved following the Euros last year, watching Harry Kane the England captain, and Son (Heung-min), I’m a bit fan of his as well,” she said. “So, I like to dabble.”
Her Tottenham shirt had a No.10 on the back and her name emblazoned above, as she revealed members of her team are also fans of the club.

“My whole team basically are big Spurs fans,” she stated. “I feel like they’re egging me on and desperately trying to get me behind. I don’t necessarily follow football so much but I feel now, because of them, some sort of connection.”
Raducanu’s appearance in Stuttgart may be surprising after she struggled to play her second Bille Jean King Cup match for Great Britain last weekend due to a blister on her foot.
Yet she is relishing her appearance on clay once again, as she prepares to take on world No.16 Storm Sanders from Australia in her first match.
“On the clay, you need to be more patient,” added Raducanu. “You need to build the shot and that takes a lot more energy and physical demand. You have to be more crafty.
“I think it’s a good lesson for someone younger like me to develop more skills. I’m looking forward to spending more time on clay as the years go by. It’s going to be a good surface for me when I’m older.”
