‘From both of us, the level was incredible’ – Ashleigh Barty downs Petra Kvitova at China Open

Ashleigh Barty earned a spot in the China Open semi-finals after she won a brilliant encounter with Petra Kvitova in three sets.
The duo put on an incredible show in Beijing, with former Wimbledon champion Kvitova taking the first set before Barty was able to power back and take a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 win.
They shared an incredible 51 winner between then, and Barty herself even seemed in awe of what they were able to produce.
“From my opinion, that was one of the highest quality matches I played all year,” world number one Barty said after the match.
“Petra always has a way of bringing out the best in me, she really does.
“From both of us, I think the level was incredible.
“Regardless of winning or losing, I think I’d be sitting here with the exact same perspective, kind of the same feeling of the match afterwards.
“I think I didn’t do a hell of a lot wrong in the first set.
“Even the game I got broken, I didn’t even really give a couple of cheapies. It was Petra doing Petra things.”
