Garbine Muguruza continues to impress in Monterrey as she advances into quarter-finals

Garbine Muguruza is safely into the last eight in Monterrey after edging out Margarita Gasparyan 6-3 6-7 (1-7) 6-2.
The two-time Grand Slam champion has endured a worrying slide down the rankings over the last year, but she rallied to extend her Monterrey winning streak to seven.
Muguruza was in ruthless mood, converting six of her 14 break points against the world number 75.
“It was a good battle Gasparyan played great,” said Muguruza. “I think I could level my game.
“I was hoping that if I stay calm, I could play better and better and I managed to win.”
Muguruza will now face Kristina Mladenovic of France, after her impressive 6-0, 6-2 win over Hungary’s Greta Arn.
