Julia Goerges holds off Belinda Bencic to win Luxembourg Open
Top seed Julia Goerges saw off the challenge of Belinda Bencic to win the Luxembourg Open.
The German secured a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Swiss qualifier Bencic to win the sixth WTA Tour singles title of her career and first since she lifted the Auckland Open in January.

A break of serve in the fifth game of the opening set and one in game 11 were enough to earn the 29-year-old the win in one hour and 28 minutes.
“Belinda had a great week and a great effort this week, coming through qualifying to make the final. She’s been in the Top 10 and I know how tough it is to get there,” Goerges said.
