Paula Badosa shares her secret to staying positive amid injury and relationship rumours
Paula Badosa has taken to social media to share an update on her injury status and also revealed how she stays positive while rehabbing.
Badosa was recently spotted in Greece with beau Stefanos Tsitsipas, dousing rumours of a split.
She feels that sometimes the low moments in life can give us insights into what it is that makes us tick.
Badosa said that she hasn’t always been able to avoid giving in to frustration as she has been unable to get back onto the WTA Tour.
“Well, with injuries this long there are always cracks, but I’m managing the situation the best I can,” Badosa told fans.
“I always try to see the positive side of things. There have been moments in my life that haven’t been like that, and there are days that are worse than others, but I know that this makes me stronger and gives me the experience to learn to handle it better each time.
“I think we have to go through all kinds of experiences in life to then know what we want, what we like and what we don’t.
“I’m in a moment where I try to focus on the good things I have, and above all we all live in the moment, because today we won’t live it anymore, so let’s enjoy it.”
One of the silver linings from Badosa’s injury has been the ability to spend time with Tsitsipas in Greece.
Badosa hopes to return to Greece soon with Tsitsipas having set off for Shanghai.
“I love Greek culture, it shares so many similarities with Spanish culture,” Badosa said.
“I love everything, I can’t wait to learn more about this culture.”
Badosa has called time on her 2023 season hoping to rest and recover in order to come out swinging in 2024.
“Hello everyone, I wanted to update you on my situation with the injury,” the former world No 2 said when she pulled out of the US Open last month.
“After struggling for many months to compete again, I am ending my season.
“Those of you who know me know how much I like to compete and how difficult it has been to make this decision. We have tried everything together with my team but the pain is not letting me move forward. Thanks to the people who are still by my side in these hard times.
“See you next year, stronger than ever,” Badosa rounded off.
