Petra Kvitova admits she may have to pull out of Wimbledon with wrist injury
Petra Kvitova will make a decision later this week about whether or not she will play at Wimbledon this year.
The world number six reached the Australian Open final at the start of the year but has struggled with wrist problems recently.
She was forced to withdraw from the French Open ahead of her first-round match, and she admits it is still a concern with the tournament just days away.
“Happy to tell you that my arm is improving and I just hit some balls on the beautiful grass for the first time,” she tweeted from the All-England club on Tuesday.
“I’m doing everything I can to be able to compete here but I’ll make a final decision later this week. Fingers crossed!”
Kvitova is a two-time Wimbledon champion and is widely regarded as one of the favourites to add to that title haul this summer.
