Smooth progress for Julia Goerges and Garbine Muguruza
Top seed Julia Goerges and Garbine Muguruza are safely into the second round of the Luxembourg Open.
Wimbledon semi-finalist Goerges saw off the challenge of Viktoria Kuzmova, securing a 6-4, 6-3 win to set up a second-round encounter against Anna Blinkova.

Two-time Grand Slam winner Muguruza was also solid in her opening match as she claimed a 6-4, 6-4 win over Stefanie Voegele in one hour and 12 minutes.
The second seed hit 31 winners and made only eight unforced errors. Next up is 18-year-old Dayana Yastremska, who won her maiden title on Sunday at the Hong Kong Tennis Open, after the Ukrainian saw off Varvara Lepchenko.

Third seed Carla Suarez Navarro booked her place in the second round with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Kristyna Pliskova and she will take on Eugenie Bouchard after the Canadian beat Timea Babos 6-4, 6-2.
Other players to advance were Andrea Petkovic, Belinda Bencic, Kirsten Flipkens and Katerina Siniakova.
