Top seed Belinda Bencic stunned at Ladies Open Lugano

Top seed and local favourite Belinda Bencic made an early exit from the Ladies Open Lugano as she was beaten in straight sets by Antonia Lottner.
Swiss Bencic has been in good form so far this campaign as she won the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and reached the Indian Wells Masters semi-final, but she wasn’t really at the races against Lottner.
The German qualifier broke five times en route to a 7-5, 6-2 victory in one hour and 26 minutes.

Lottner will face Kristyna Pliskova next after the Czech beat Ylena In-Albon 6-4, 7-5.
It was a bad day for the seeds, second-ranked Carla Suarez Navarro also crashed out as she was beaten by Polona Hercog, who won 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Fifth seed Pauline Parmentier was another casualty as she suffered a 6-2, 6-4 defeat against Stefanie Voegele from Switzerland.
