Victoria Azarenka to miss Stuttgart event as it co-incides with her Covid-19 vaccination date
Two-time Grand Slam winner Victoria Azarenka has pulled out of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Germany as the tournament clashes with her Covid-19 vaccination appointment.
While some tennis players have expressed their hesitancy over Covid-19 vaccines, Azarenka has had no qualms about revealing that she is due to get the shot next week.
As a result she will miss the WTA 500 event in Stuttgart.

“I will unfortunately not be able to compete in Stuttgart at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix next week as I will be receiving my first dosis (sic) of the vaccine at the same time,” the world No 15 wrote on Twitter.
Although the ATP and WTA have made it clear that Covid-19 vaccine shots won’t be mandatory in order to compete on the Tours, they have encouraged players to get vaccinated.
