Which Porsche is up for grabs when the WTA Tour hits Stuttgart?
One of the features of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is that the title sponsor of the event give the winner one of their luxury vehicles as part of their prize.
This season is no different and Porsche have revealed which one of their lineup of high-end cars will be given to the champion.
The Porsche Taycan 4S Sport Turismo will sit atop a rostrum next to the court in the Porsche Arena like a dangling carrot.
“Higher, further, faster: the new versions of the Porsche Taycan impress with their higher charging capacity, longer range and faster acceleration,” organisers said of the prize.
“Right on time for the start of play in Stuttgart, Porsche has given the Taycan an extensive upgrade. In addition to greater performance, longer range and faster acceleration, the new versions charge quicker and more robustly. The design has also been further honed.”
The all-electric sports saloon could find its way into the hands of Iga Swiatek, a player who has already won two Porsche’s and is on an incredible winning streak in Stuttgart.
‟The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is an important part of the Porsche heritage. The long-standing tournament is one of Germany’s top events and a big draw for players and visitors alike,” said Porsche’s Sebastian Rudolph.
‟The outstanding field of players will produce a Grand Slam atmosphere. Spectators here love the mixture of world class tennis plus the attractive range of side events. The tournament also has a social component as the company supports charitable organisations via the ‟Aces for Charity” fundraiser. At the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, societal responsibility reaches out beyond the baseline.”
Swiatek’s enthusiasm for Porsche hasn’t been diminished by her two wins in Stuttgart.
‟The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is one of my favourite tournaments,” Swiatek said.
“I’ve got great memories of Stuttgart, and not only because I’ve won there twice. I really appreciate the great organization, the atmosphere created by the fans and, of course the opportunity to drive a Porsche. I can’t wait to get back to Stuttgart.”
The Porsche Grand Prix looks set to sport a world class field with nine of the world’s top ten players entered into the event.
Among the big draws for the Stuttgart event is US Open champion Coco Gauff.
Gauff is looking forward to a strong start to her clay swing in Stuttgart.
‟I’ve been very successful on clay and am certain Stuttgart will come up with a perfect and very welcoming week at the start of the European season,” said Gauff.

Gauff’s doubles partner and fellow top ten star Jessica Pegula will be making her Stuttgart debut this season.
‟I’ve never been to Stuttgart,” Pegula said.
“I’ve heard lots of positive things about the tournament and that it’s the favourite of many of the players. Having Porsche as the organiser and sponsor is also not a feature of many tournaments.”
The main draw of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix gets underway on Monday 15 April.
