Wins for Caroline Garcia, Donna Vekic and Maria Sakkari in Nottingham

Seeds Caroline Garcia, Donna Vekic and Maria Sakkari had no problems booking their places in the quarter-finals of the rain-hit Nature Valley Classic.
With the weather causing havoc earlier in the week, matches have been moved to an indoor hard-court facility, but top seed Garcia produced a solid display as she recorded a 6-1, 6-3 victory over British wildcard Maia Lumsden.

Up next is Elena-Gabriela Ruse after the Romanian qualifier beat Viktorija Golubic 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-4.
Fourth seed Sakkari also had a relatively straightforward day at the office as she was a 6-2, 6-4 winner over Ivana Jorovic, and Jennifer Brady from the United States stands between the Greek and a semi-final place.
Lumsden’s fellow Brit Harriet Dart’s run also came to an end as she was beaten by sixth seed Ajla Tomljanovic with the Australian winning 6-7 (5-7), 6-1, 6-2.
Tomljanovic faces Tatjana Maria for a place in the semi-finals after the German beat Bernarda Pera 6-7, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.
Second seed Donna Vekic, meanwhile, wasted no time in beating Chloe Paquet, winning 6-1, 6-2 and eighth seed Kristina Mladenovic is up next after the Frenchwoman beat Astra Sharma 6-1, 7-5.
