Emma Raducanu will face the world No 65 in the first round of the Eastbourne International while she could take on the defending champion and top seed in the quarter-final.

Seeded seventh for the WTA 250 event following her rise to No 36 in the WTA Rankings, Raducanu will take on American Ann Li in her opener at Devonshire Park in what will be a first career meeting between the pair.

If the British No 1 – who will drop 108 points following her run to the quarter-final last year – comes through that encounter that she will take on either three-time Grand Slam runner-up Ons Jabeur or rising star Maya Joint in the second round.

Former world No 2 Jabeur has struggled with form and injury in recent years and has slipped to No 61 in the rankings while the 19-year-old Joint sits at No 52, having won her maiden WTA Tour singles title at the Moroccan Open in May this year.

The tournament gives Raducanu an opportunity to rise further up the rankings, although the ranking positions after Eastbourne won’t count in terms of the Wimbledon seedings as the cutoff was June 19.

The winner of the Raducanu/Li-Jabeur/Joint match is projected to face defending champion Daria Kasatkina in the quarter-final.

The world No 16 takes on Lulu Sun in the first round while she will face either Anna Blinkova or Marie Bouzkova in the round of 16 if she passes the first test.

Fourth seed Sofia Kenin is the second-highest seed in the top half of the draw and she starts against a qualifier while she is projected to meet sixth seed Peyton Stearns in the quarter-final.

If the seedings hold, then Kasatkina and Kenin will meet in the semi-final.

Second seed Barbora Krejcikova highlights the bottom half of the draw and she starts against British wildcard Harriet Dart and she could meet eighth seed Rebecca Sramkova in the quarter-final.

Former French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko is the third highest-ranked player in the draw and she has been handed a tough start as she faces Sonay Kartal – who stunned Kasatkina at the Queen’s Club Championship a fortnight ago – in the first round.

Third seed Ostapenko will most likely meet fifth seed Magda Linette in the quarter-final before a possible showdown with Krejcikova in the semi-final.

Projected Quarter-Finals in Eastbourne:

Kasatkina v Raducanu
Kenin v Stearns
Sramkova v Krejcikova
