Reigning world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka has stretched her lead over Iga Swiatek at the top of the WTA Rankings, while Jelena Ostapenko has returned to the top 20.

Sabalenka has boosted her points total from 10,541 to 10,768 after finishing as a runner-up at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart for the fourth time.

The Belarusian, who is into her 35th week as world No 1, looks set for a lengthy stay at the peak of the rankings and now leads second-ranked Swiatek by 3,385 points.

Swiatek has dropped 87 points after falling in the quarter-finals in Stuttgart, having been a semi-finalist at the 2024 edition of the event.

Ostapenko downed Swiatek in the last eight and Sabalenka in the final during a stunning run to the title at the WTA 500 clay event.

The Latvian has jumped from 24th to 18th in the rankings with the 500 points she earned for her victory.

Elena Rybakina has fallen from 10th to 11th after choosing not to defend her 2024 Stuttgart title, which saw her lose all of the 500 points she was defending.

This allowed Emma Navarro, who lost to Ostapenko in the second round in Stuttgart, to return to the top 10.

Elina Svitolina has climbed one place to world No 17 after winning the 250 tournament in Rouen — her 18th WTA Tour title.

Olga Danilovic, who was beaten by Svitolina in the Rouen final, has leapt five spots to a new career-high ranking of 34th.

Marta Kostyuk has fallen from 36th to 25th after not competing last week, having been a runner-up in Stuttgart in 2024.
