WTA Rankings: Iga Swiatek still No 1, Diana Shnaider +5, Karolina Muchova +6
After the conclusion of a dramatic Wimbledon, all eyes turned to the mini clay swing on the WTA Tour – with some eyeing up the perfect Olympic preparation.
Some big names decided to skip action but there were still plenty of big talking points – and some notable moves in the WTA Rankings.
Shnaider and Muchova lead movers
Few women are having a breakout season as impressive as Diana Shnaider, with the Russian winning her third title of 2024 at the WTA 250 event in Budapest.
The Russian has won WTA crowns on all three surfaces this season and her latest victory has propelled her up five places to a new career-high of 23rd, a move of five places.
Also impressive last week was Karolina Muchova, who reached the Palermo final in just her third tournament of the season.
The Czech star was unable to capture the title but has still leapt up six spots to world No 29, returning to the top 30 after exiting that mark post-French Open.
Elsewhere, Diane Parry has jumped six places to No 52 after her semi-final run in Palermo, while Jaqueline Cristian is up five spots to No 61 after reaching the last eight.
Anna Karolina Schmiedlova has returned to the top 70 after reaching the Budapest semi-finals, though Sara Sorribes Tormo and Mayar Sherif have both slipped down.

No change in Top 20
With several leading stars choosing not to play last week post-Wimbledon, there has been no movement inside the top 20.
The most notable result was Zheng Qinwen’s triumph in the Palermo, with the world No 7 holding onto her ranking after a successful title defence at the WTA 250 event.
Iga Swiatek is still comfortably clear as the world No 1 ahead of Coco Gauff, with Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, and Jasmine Paolini rounding out the top five.
There are five US women ranked inside the world’s top 15, with Gauff joined by world No 6 Jessica Pegula, world No 9 Danielle Collins, world No 14 Madison Keys, and world No 15 Emma Navarro.
