WTA Rankings: Iga Swiatek overtakes Justine Henin; Linda Noskova +10, Lulu Sun +16, McCartney Kessler +35
Iga Swiatek has moved ahead of Justine Henin in the all-time list for most weeks spent at No 1 in the WTA Rankings while Emma Navarro is up to a new career high.
Five-time Grand Slam winner Swiatek and the rest of the top 10 didn’t feature last week as they took a breather ahead of the US Open, but the Pole was always assured of staying at the top of the rankings.
The 23-year-old started her 118th week at No 1 on Monday as she moved past Justine Henin and up to No 8 in the all-time WTA Tour list with Ashleigh Barty next on 121 weeks. She is mathematically assured of moving ahead of the Australian as she will remain top until late September.
Swiatek – currently in her second spell at the top – has spent the last 43 weeks at No 1 to go with the 75 consecutive weeks from her first spell, which ran from April 2022 until September 2023.
The top 10 is unchanged as the Pole is followed by Sabalenka, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina, Jasmine Paolini, Jessica Pegula, Qinwen Zheng, Barbora Krejcikova, Maria Sakkari and Jelena Ostapenko.

The 3 women to win Cincinnati and US Open in same season: Can Aryna Sabalenka become No 4?
But there will be plenty of movement in the top 10 after the final Grand Slam of the year at Flushing Meadows with reigning champion Gauff in danger of slipping to No 6 as she will drop 2,000 points.
Swiatek only has 230 points to defend while Sabalenka finished runner-up last year so will drop 1,300 points, but the Belarusian will remain at No 2 after the tournament.
There is only one change to the top 20 as Emma Navarro moved up one place to reach a new high of 11 with Daria Kasatkina dropping one spot.
Most of the movers and shakers came outside the top 20 with Linda Noskova jumping to a new career-high of No 25 after moving up 10 places on the back of her maiden title at the Monterrey Open.
The 19-year-old defeated Navarro in the semi-final and Lulu Sun in the final of the WTA 500 event.
Sun – who started the year at No 201 – had an even bigger jump as the New Zealander has cracked the top 50 for the first time after moving up 16 places to No 41.
McCartney Kessler was the other title winner last week as the American won the Tennis In The Land trophy. The 25-year-old, who mostly plays on the ITF/WTA 125 circuit, not only reached her maiden final, but she won the title in Cleveland and surged 35 places to No 63.
