WTA Winners And Losers After Miami: Danielle Collins +31, Bianca Andreescu -61, Emma Raducanu -12
Iga Swiatek will increase her lead at the top of the WTA Rankings despite her shock early exit from the Miami Open, but Danielle Collins and Naomi Osaka were the big winners at the second leg of the Sunshine Double.
World No 1 Swiatek missed a chance to increase her mammoth lead over her closest rivals, but it was still a good fortnight for the Pole in terms of the rankings.
With Aryna Sabalenka losing in the third round of the WTA 1000 event in Florida, the top seed had a golden opportunity to hammer home her advantage in the standings.
However, the four-time Grand Slam winner ended up losing in the next round as she was upset in straight sets by Ekaterina Alexandrova.

The Big Winners
Former world No 7 Danielle Collins’ resurgence continues and she is set to return to the top 30 for the first time in a year as she will surge 31 places to No 22 following her incredible run at the Miami Open.
Just months after announcing that the 2024 season would be her final campaign as a professional, 2022 Australian Open runner-up Collins won the biggest title of her career as she defeated Rybakina in the final.
Four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka also continued her revival with a run to the third round in Florida and that will earn her a 37-place jump to No 192 when the rankings are updated on Monday.
Miami quarter-finalist Yulia Putintseva will climb 16 places to No 52.
The Big Losers
2019 US Open winner Bianca Andreescu’s struggles continue as she is set to slide out of the top 200. The Canadian reached the fourth round in Miami last year, but didn’t compete this year. As a result, she is expected to drop 61 places to No 219 – her lowest position since her breakthrough season in 2018.
Petra Kvitova was the defending champion in Miami, but the two-time Wimbledon winner didn’t defend her title as she is on maternity leave. The result is a 37-place drop to No 60. However, the Czech will be able to use her special ranking when she does return to the WTA Tour.
Emma Raducanu was another player who didn’t feature at the Miami Open as an injury kept her out and her inactivity will see her drop 12 places to No 300.
But the good news for Raducanu is the fact that she has no more points to defend for the rest of the year with the only way up from here on in.
