Alex Eala’s US Open outfit will get more attention than most at the final Grand Slam of 2026 and the Filipina hero is set to make her mark in a striking blue dress.
Eala has emerged as one of the biggest stars on the WTA Tour in recent months, with her run to the last-16 at Wimbledon giving her a first appearance in the second week of a Grand Slam tournament.
Her win against defending champion Iga Swiatek at the All England Club created global headlines, but that was not the highlight of a stellar year for Eala.
The 21-year-old backed up her heroics at Wimbledon with a breakthrough moment as she won her first WTA Tour title with a thrilling run of wins in Washington.
Eala’s win in the final against Jessica Pegula was a moment that created a huge stir back in the Philippines, but it also alerted the American audience to her talents.

That increased interest is likely to ensure Eala gets plenty of opportunities to play on the biggest courts at the US Open, with her debut on the showpiece Arthur Ashe Stadium night session a strong possibility in New York.
Eala is set to catch the eye at Flushing Meadows as Nike have served up a classy kit for what she will hope will be an extended run into the second week.
Eala’s NikeCourt Slam women’s tennis dress has been unveiled and it is available to purchase from the Nike online store.

The dress features some of the mesh detail that will also appear on the red dress that will be worn by world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka at the US Open, with the design a nod to one of America’s other sporting loves, as the mesh is a tribute to the netting used around the basketball ring.
With Eala set to be seeded at the US Open, she will have a chance to play lower-ranked players in the opening rounds and make progress in the tournament.
Her best performance at the US Open at last year’s tournament, where she won her first match in a Grand Slam before losing in the second round.
Eala is a more rounded player 12 months on and if she enjoys a good run in New York, she could be knocking on the door of a place in the top 10 of the WTA Rankings by the end of 2026.
