Alex Eala suffered a shock one-sided defeat to Claire Liu in the final at the 2026 Hong Kong Tennis Open, but how many ranking points and how much prize money did the pair collect?

World No 17 Eala was upset 6-3, 6-0 by 102nd-ranked Liu in the championship match at the WTA 250 tournament in Hong Kong on Sunday.

Liu’s dominant triumph saw her claim her first-ever title on the WTA Tour. The 26-year-old American did not drop a single set during an impressive title run.

Eala was playing her third career WTA Tour final, and she was aiming to secure her second title, having captured her maiden trophy at the Washington Open in August.
