The glamour boys of men’s tennis have given their fans a treat by posting images from their latest Hugo Boss photo shoots.

2021 Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini has been a long-time brand ambassador for the high-end brand, with his dashing good looks ensuring the Italian is a good pick to promote the Boss products.

Now he has posted images of his Boss photo shoot on his Instagram, as he admits he enjoys the crossover away from tennis and into fashion.

“It is good to mix the performance and the style,” the former world No 6 told Forbes when asked about his Boss deal. “When they tell me it is either this or that, I have my say. I think it is working pretty well.

“The brand is important, the opportunities are great. I got into this brand and this deal because my performance results were good. I know when you get a little bit better, you have to handle this stuff.

“It is part of my job, part of what I do, but they make it really easy, how well they are taking care of me. It is just really one of the best deals I have ever had.”

Berrettini also revealed he has a role in the development of the clothes he wears on court as he said: “They ask if I like this, the stripes here, the colour, I have a lot of say.

“The most important thing is the performance, but it has to look good. We created all the outfits you saw until now and all the kits you are going to see through this year and next year, they are all co-created by me and the Boss team.

“One of the reasons why I am playing tennis is to inspire kids.

“I think it is something really cool, something really special. I remember when I was a kid, I was looking at the guys who were older than me and when I see the kids’ eyes, they are the same eyes I used to have when I wanted to know the guys, meet the guys and ask questions. It is really cool to be one of those guys. It gives me a lot of energy, and when I have the chance [to meet kids] and I like to do it.”

American No 1 Fritz has been signed up by Boss in recent years after his impressive rise up the ATP Rankings and he enjoys stepping out of his comfort zone to take the photo.

“In the last few years, my team and I have chosen to be even more strategic,” said Fritz. “I’ve learnt so much in the last few years about the sports and entertainment business. I’ve also learnt the most powerful tool is listening.

“The Boss team believed in me and I’m excited about what’s to come. This particular deal with Boss was very personal for me.”

The high profile of the Boss photo shoots ensures Berrettini and Fritz will see their profile raised by the association with the brand, which can only be good news for tennis.
